The use of 40mm launchers by law enforcement has significantly increased across the country as departments realize the safe and effective less lethal benefits they offer. This course will ensure the student is able to perform up to Level Three maintenance on the new LMT 14xx series, and 37mm and 40mm Single launchers.

R4 Taser Instructor (New and Re-Certifying)- Blackfoot

Course Description:

TASER CEW X26P, X2 and the new TASER 7 and TASER 7 CQ Basic Instructor certification course. With the release of Version 22, we have enhanced the Basic Instructor course to teach students how to develop and safely execute scenarios and isolation drills, provide more in-depth scenario training. Students will learn how to develop and safely implement scenarios, isolation drills and conduct teach backs to hone their instructor skills. You will be certified to instruct others on the use of the X26P, X2, TASER 7 and TASER 7 CQ Conducted Energy Weapons. Students will be required to complete an interactive online experience prior to attending the one day in-classroom training.

What to bring: Dress is casual. Bring your department issued TASER holster (if applicable). Holsters will be available for those who need them. Please bring your duty belt with NO firearms, ammunition, or weapons of any kind.

R4 Less Lethal Instructor Program (Defense Technology)- Idaho Falls

Course Description:

Our hallmark ICP Instructor Program provides the necessary training for a changing world. This course is comprised of four 8-hour instructor-level classes covering OC Aerosols, Impact Munitions, Chemical Munitions and Distraction Device® Munitions. The student will acquire instructor-level knowledge of Defense Technology® products, both technically and tactically, along with the skills necessary to conduct in-service training.

Day One- OC Aerosol Projectors Instructor Program

Day Two- Less Lethal Impact Munitions (LLIM) Instructor Program

Day Three- Chemical Munitions (CHEM) Instructor Program

Day Four- Distraction Device Munitions (DD) Instructor Program

Each of the four class modules focuses on a different subject and includes a half day of lecture-based studies followed by a half day in the field for deployment drills. Unique to this class are the state-of-the-art deployment tactics that come direct from the manufacturer of the products used. In each topic, students will receive a CD containing presentation materials and videos to be utilized by the student for training in their own departments.

Course Benefits

This course is conducted by real-world professionals with strong operational and applied experience in their respective fields. Upon completion of the course and successfully passing the final exam, the student is authorized to provide in-service training to their agency in specific areas for three years from the testing date.

COURSE PREREQUISITES-

Each attendee must be in good physical condition and able to perform the practical exercises associated with tactical applications with these produts. The Defense Technology Training Academy trains only sworn law enforcement officers, correctional personnel, state-licenses security personnel (OC Only), or active military personnel.

R4 Less Lethal Weapons Instructor (3 Day) Combined Tactical Systems- Pocatello CANCELLED

Course Description:

This 3-day Instructor Certification Program is taught on an 8 hour/3 day basis and is designed for officers with a desire to obtain their less lethal instructor certification. Course includes both classroom and range exercises focusing on the history, nomenclature, applications, use of force considerations, training, and legalities of less lethal munitions, as well as integrating less lethal munitions into current departmental methods.  Officers will receive Instructor Certification in OC Aerosol, Chemical Munitions, Impact Munitions and Flashbang Devices upon completion of the 3 day course.

The training certificate for all CTSTI training courses is valid for 4 years from the completion.
