This course will cover current hot topics in use of force, case law, and issues related to documentation which can lead to increased liability in criminal and civil cases.

Instructors:
Matt Bloodgood, a retired Anchorage Police Sergeant, brings extensive experience from roles in Patrol, SWAT, specialized teams, and academy operations. He recently retired from Idaho POST, where he served as a Regional Training Coordinator. Matt is a POST instructor in Firearms, Tactical Teams, and Use of Force. He also works as a consultant and has been accepted in court as an expert in use of force and police practices.
Matt Lovell, lead attorney at Lovell Law PLLC, former Idaho Deputy Attorney General, and Bannock County, ID Deputy Sergeant, with experience in Detention, Patrol, and SWAT. Matt has had previous POST instructor certifications in Firearms, Tactical Teams, and Use of Force. Matt is a contract attorney for the Fraternal Order of Police and provides administrative, civil, and criminal defense services for law enforcement officers.
