Description:
This is a POST provided in-service training for certified officers. This course will cover the use of handgun mounted optical sights, such as red dot sights from various manufacturers. The course will cover different optics, their use, and problems associated with their use. This course will also satisfy the High Liability Firearms Instructor biennial training requirement.

- Functionality
- Nomenclature
- Pros and Cons
- Binden Aiming Concept
- Asymmetrical Dot Principle
- Occluded Lens- Water, Fog, Snow, Ice, Mud, Broken Lens
- Policy and Procedures
- And more…
Participants will be required to provide the following:
- Duty handgun with mounted electronic optic, iron sights, three magazines
- Weapon mounted light and/or handheld flashlight
- 700 rounds of handgun training ammunition
- 100 rounds of duty handgun ammo (only needed if the user is operational with the handgun and mounted optic)
- Duty belt with duty holster, or other holster capable of securely holstering the handgun with mounted optic
- Ear/eye pro
- Ball cap
- Range suitable clothing, water
