Registration is closed, class is full.

May 9, 2024, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Credit Hours: 2
Course Number: R2 139

Description:

The demonization of law enforcement and agenda-driven defunding movement by radicals and anti-law enforcement groups fuel hatred and violence against officers. All this is compounded by the fear of law enforcement officers to be proactive and to be seen as aggressive. This fear and hesitation by officers have made them exceedingly vulnerable. Criminals, in turn, have become more aggressive. This course will provide the methodology for recognizing the signs of an ambush, tactics for defeating attacks and the mindset for increased safety and security. The instructor will illustrate tactics for awareness, safety measures, ambush countermeasures, booby trap countermeasures, and the proper mindset, while maintaining a positive connection with the communities they serve.

This training program will cover the following topics:

  • The Truth About Law Enforcement Officers and their Vulnerabilities
  • Why are ambush attacks so prevalent? What fuels these attacks?
  • AMBUSH: What have LEOs experienced over the years?
  • Anatomy of an Ambush
  • Types of Ambushes, Booby Traps and Set-ups
  • Proactive Approach to Defeating an Ambush
