Description:
This is a POST provided in-service training for certified law enforcement officers; this training is designed for the end-user. Shooting in low-light has long been a required and very necessary skill for law enforcement officers. The purpose of this course is to expose the student to a variety of low-light shooting skills for both the handgun and patrol rifle. The Low-Light Firearms Course will consist of 16 hours of hands on performance based training. The 2-day course will provide the end-user with the fundamental concepts and principles to properly manipulate and deploy a handgun and rifle during low light conditions. This will be a reverse cycle training course starting at 5:30 pm each day! Instruction will be at the range, on the range
Participants will be required to provide the following:
- Duty rifle with sling and at least two magazines
- Weapon mounted light and/or handheld flashlight
- 600 rounds of rifle training ammunition
- 5 rounds of duty rifle ammo
- Handgun and complete duty belt
- 600 rounds of handgun ammunition
- 5 rounds of handgun duty ammo
- Ear/eye pro
- Elbow & knee pads
- Ball cap
- Range suitable clothing, water
Pre-requisites for attendance – Idaho POST Basic certification
