R2 257 Model 870 Armorer Course- Nampa

This course provides students with an in-depth, hands-on introduction to the Remington 870 shotgun. Participants will gain practical knowledge and skills related to the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the platform.

Instructional Topics Include:

• Basic operation and nomenclature
• Design and function of the Remington 870 shotgun
• Common field strip procedures leading to detailed disassembly
• Cleaning and maintenance practices
• Troubleshooting malfunctions and diagnostics
• Advanced repairs, including:
  • Ejector replacement
  • Hammer and spring replacement
• Repair documentation for the department armorer

Student Requirements:

• Each student must bring a Remington 870 shotgun ONLY to class
• Students may bring their own tools if desired
• If unable to bring an 870 shotgun, students must contact the instructor prior to class

Provided Materials:

• Basic armorer’s tool kits
• Training and support materials
