Descriptions:

his course is a free, sixteen (16) hour block of Patrol Criminal Apprehension training conducted over two (2) days. The training may include a special video segment titled “The Drug Trafficker’s Perspective.” Trainers will provide instruction on proven and effective practices for building criminal cases, beginning with the onset of the traffic stop and continuing through report writing.

The course will cover the following topics:

• Officer Safety, Ethics, and the 4th Amendment

• Trends and Pre-text Stops

• Vehicle and Personal Indicators

• Roadside Interview (Deception)

• Importance of Documents

• Legal Considerations (Includes K9 case law)

• Consent Searches

• Money Seizures

• Report Writing (Importance)

• Importance of Officer Networking

• Case Studies and Field Exercises / Vehicle Searches (Day 2)
