Description:
This highly dynamic, 2-day course incorporates lecture, practical exercises, and scenario-based training. The curriculum, which is taken from modules of our highly recognized Monadnock Baton, Tactical Shield and Crowd Management/Mobile Field Force courses, focuses on the use of Riot Shields to protect officers from strikes, thrown objects and maintaining control of formations, as well as Riot Batons to assist with subject control and arrest of violent protestors. Instructors are nationally and internationally recognized and bring extensive real-world experience to the program. The curriculum is designed in modules that are intended to be completed consecutively that include fundamentals, planning considerations, communications, common mistakes and best practices.
• Riot shield fundamentals
• Subject control fundamentals both with a shield and baton
• Understanding environmental factors unique to crowd/subject control
• Using riot shields/riot batons as part of larger operations
• Assess policies, organization, training, material, leadership, and personnel concerns pertaining to riot shield/riot baton operations
