This training emphasizes safety protocols, scene security, and systematic processing while teaching participants how to locate, identify, and collect fingerprints, DNA, biological, impression, and trace evidence. Instruction highlights chain-of-custody, crime scene sketches, and legal considerations to ensure accuracy and admissibility in court. Practical staged exercises allow participants to apply methodology, document findings, and justify evidence collection decisions with professional rigor.

Topics Include:

• Safety protocols and scene-security
• Systemic & methodical processing
• Latent fingerprint, DNA, & biological evidence: location, identification, and collection
• Recovery of impression and tool mark evidence
• Trace evidence and relevant techniques for location, identification, and collections
• Chain-of-custody, the importance, and the impact
• Crimes scene sketches and diagrams: reflect scale, legend, and positional relationships
• Legal considerations governing evidence collection, search-warrant requirements, and admissibility in court.
• Process staged crime scene practical exercises, present findings using methodology, documentation, and evidence rationale.
• Documentation instructions for the above topics
