Description:
This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely and accurately engage targets from elevated positions in both urban and rural environments. Through classroom instruction and hands-on training, students will learn the ballistic, environmental, and fieldcraft considerations unique to high-angle shooting.
Course topics include:

High-Angle Shooting Techniques:

Specialized techniques for uphill and downhill engagements

Shooting from prone, tripod, kneeling, sitting, standing, and improvised positions

Fundamentals of High-Angle Shooting:

Introduction to Level 2 law enforcement high-angle specialty sniper principles

Engagements from 25 meters to approximately 1,000 meters

Precision Shooting Fundamentals:

Mastery of precision shooting mechanics at steep angles and extended distances

Firing Solutions:

Tuning firing solutions for specific angles

Manual ballistic calculations and use of Kestrel ballistic solvers

Identification and adjustment for environmental limitations

Understanding wind behaviors unique to high-angle engagements

Tripod and Supported Shooting:

Shooting from tripods in deliberate and hasty configurations
