Description:
Sheriff (Ret) Paul D. Laney and Director Mary Phillippi are accomplished trainers with over 50 years of combined leadership experience. They have refined this training experience into a unique approach to leadership development using interactive discussion, real world examples, and scenario-based practical applications to teach leadership.
During this training, they will explain the Drive the Road Leadership Philosophy and cover in detail topics such as:
- Personal Leadership Statements
- Understanding the basics of federal acts (EEOC, FMLA, FLSA, USERRA, ADA)
- The steps to effective delegation
- Performance Improvement Plans
- Employee Evaluations
Individual scenarios are conducted in a classroom setting, and attendees who observe the scenario will provide feedback to the person conducting the scenario. This portion of the class will consist of the attendees writing a Performance Improvement Plan based on scenarios given to them from the instructors. After writing the Performance Improvement Plan, the attendee will issue the plan to the instructors in a role play scenario. All attendees will observe the attendee conducting the scenario and will provide feedback to the student. The instructors will provide feedback to the attendee doing the scenario.
