Description:
Between August 10th, 2016 and March 23rd, 2017, 10,000 protesters gathered on the prairie of North Dakota to protest the Dakota Access Pipeline. Retired Sheriff Paul Laney, served as a senior commander during this protest. In this class, Sheriff Laney will summarize the event and discuss the strategic and tactical decisions made over the 7 1/2 – month protest. We will break down and analyze those decisions, discuss the critical thinking skills necessary to lead this type of event, and the lessons learned. Participants will leave the 8-hour class better prepared to plan and to lead in any type of situation.
