This is a POST provided in-service training for certified officers.  This Urban Rifle Course consists of 24 hours of hands-on, performance based rifle training. Students will learn how to properly manipulate and deploy a rifle within an urban environment. The purpose of this course is to expose the student to the capabilities and limitations of the law enforcement patrol rifle.

Participants will be required to provide the following:

  • Duty Rifle w/sling and at least two magazines
  • Weapon mounted light and handheld flashlight
  • 500 rounds of rifle ammunition
  • 5 rounds of rifle duty ammunition
  • Handgun and complete duty belt
  • 50 rounds of handgun ammunition
  • Ear protection
  • Eye protection
  • Elbow & knee pads
  • Ball cap

Description:   Low-Light Shooting Techniques – User Training

This is a POST provided in-service training for certified officers.  This Low-Light Firearms Course will consist of 16 hours of hands on performance based training. Students will learn how to properly manipulate and deploy a handgun and/or rifle with and/or without a light source. The purpose of this course is to expose the student to a variety of low-light shooting skills for both the handgun and patrol rifle.

Participants will be required to provide the following:

Duty Rifle w/sling, two magazines

600 rounds of rifle ammunition
5 rounds of rifle duty ammo
Handgun and complete duty belt

R4 Handgun Mounted Optics (Red Dot Sights) User Course-Salmon

Description:   Handgun Mounted Electronic Sights (Red Dot Sights) User Training

This is a POST provided in-service training for certified officers.  This course will cover the use of handgun mounted optical sights, such as red dot sights from various manufacturers. The course will cover different optics, their use, and problems associated with their use. This course will also satisfy the High Liability Firearms Instructor biennial training requirement.

Duty handgun with mounted electronic optic, iron sights, three magazines

500 rounds of handgun training ammunition (600 rounds if you are not operational with the handgun, you do not need the duty ammo listed below in that case)
100 rounds of duty handgun ammo (only needed if the user is operational with the handgun and mounted optic)
Duty belt with duty holster, or other holster capable of securely holstering the handgun with mounted optic
Ear/eye pro
Ball cap
Range suitable clothing, water
