POST has developed a Tac-Med curriculum for the Basic Patrol and Probation and Parole Academies. The course is designed to prepare law enforcement professionals for medical situations requiring a tactical solution.  At the end of the training the student will be able to apply first aid treatment within the principles of TCCC and save preventable deaths without causing further causalities to team members.

Given a tactical mission, the student will be able to assess and recognize a life threatening injury, provide effective treatment and extricate the casualty from a hostile fire scenario while maintaining cover and effectively utilizing tactical movement strategies.

This Tac-Med class is now available as in-service training to current LE Officers with basic certification who did not receive this training at the academy level.

This is a very physically demanding course. Participants will be required to lift, drag and carry personnel throughout the entire block of training.  Participants will also be placing tourniquets on self and others utilizing proper application techniques.

Participants will test-out via a performance evaluation at the end of this training.

R2 TAC-MED INSTRUCTOR COURSE

Description:    Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TAC-MED) Instructor Course

POST developed a 40-hour TAC-MED instructor curriculum for those wishing to instruct the Basic POST Certified 16-hour Tactical Combat Casualty Care Course. The course is designed to provide instructors with the acceptable TCCC standard of training within the State of Idaho. The student will complete the standard 16-hour basic course including a performance evaluation test out.  The student will then teach back the entire block of instruction to include scenarios and performance evaluation to the Instructor Cadre.

The instructor cadre is a mix of law enforcement and military professionals that are skilled in the practical application of Tactical Combat Casualty Care .  This is an extremely hands on, performance-based block of instruction that is very physically demanding.  Participants will be required to lift, drag and carry personnel throughout the entire block of training.  Participants will also be placing tourniquets on self and others utilizing proper application techniques.

Participants must test-out via a performance evaluation and also conduct several teach backs to successfully complete this block of instruction.

A R(1, 2, 3, 4) Mobile Field Force and Crowd Control TTT Template

Description:  Mobile Field Force & Crowd Control Train The Trainer

This Idaho POST approved, Instructor Level course, is designed to provide students the necessary understanding and skills needed to effectively work in a Mobile Field Force (MFF) environment.

This Mobile Field Force & Crowd Control class is now available as in-service training to current LE Officers with Patrol or Probation & Parole certification who are looking for an instructor level train-the-trainer course that satisfies the training requirements for the POST high liability instructor endorsement for Crowd Control Instructor.

This is a very physically demanding course! It’s also developed as a hands-on performance based block of instruction utilizing practical exercises and scenario based training to actively engage the student.

Upon completion of the course, participants will have the necessary skills to instruct other officers in the different types of Crowds and effective Crowd Management, Field Level MFF Platoon and Squad formations, tactics, and movements ; as well as MFF Vehicle formations, tactics, and movements.

Students will be required to effectively demonstrate and provide instruction to other students related to MFF operations, and provide a classroom presentation on course related topics.

Attendance at this training does not guarantee Instructor certification and endorsement.  To obtain a POST certified instructor endorsement in this High Liability discipline additional training requirements must be met.  Please refer to the document link below.
