Description: Implicit Bias and Cultural Diversity
This Detention training series, presented by the Idaho Sheriff’s Association, is offered in a virtual classroom setting and each course will have two sessions available. This detention training series includes:
Implicit Bias: Balancing Bias: Understanding the impact of biases and skills to avoid bias in everyday interactions.
Cultural Diversity. Helping the attendees identify / understand some of the key factors in their primary culture, and those of the agency and inmates of the detention centers in which they work.
Professional Boundaries: Setting ethical and effective boundaries in the workplace.
Mental Health Increased awareness of mental health disorders and comfort level interacting with inmates with mental health issues. Identify resources to utilize in crises and referral options for inmates.
Human Trafficking: Identifying, responding to and referring services to victims of Human Trafficking in the jails.
First Aid: Identifying and responding to physical injuries and medical conditions in a confinement setting.
November 3rd: Implicit Bias (8hrs with 1 hr. lunch) 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
November 5th: Implicit Bias (8hrs with 1 hr. lunch) 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Nov 10: Professional Boundaries/Mental Health (4hrs) 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Nov 12: Professional Boundaries/Mental Health (4hrs) 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
December 1: Human Trafficking /First Aid (4hrs) 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
December 3: Human Trafficking /First Aid (4hrs) 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Credit Hours: 8 hours
Location: Webex Virtual Classroom
COST: $ 75.00 attend one class or all classes in the series.
