This 40 hour course will provide students various basic through advanced collision investigation topics. Students will review and build on the Systematic Approach topics taught in Basic Crash Investigation as well as learn the derivations of basic formulas used. R2 203A Heavy Vehicle Electronic Data Recorder (HVEDR) – Meridian

Course Number  : R2 203A

Description:

This five-day training offers further training into the history, development, and function of heavy vehicle digital forensics. The investigator’s expanded interpretation skills will assist in the completion of a situation-based crash reconstruction.

Topics included are: Best practices used to access and document HVEDR data, HVEDR Data Available on Heavy Trucks, Use of OEM software/adapters, as well as the Synercon Forensic Link Adapter and TruckCRYPT software, Validation Testing and Case Analysis.

The course materials are tailored to the Advanced or Reconstruction level-trained collision investigator.

Class is eligible for ACTAR CEU’s.

R2 203A Heavy Truck Reconstruction – Meridian

Course Number  : R2 203A

Description:

This course is designed for Advanced Technical Investigators or Collision Reconstructionists.

Upon conclusion of the class, attendee’s will be able to evaluate a heavy vehicle’s ability to stop, reconstruct a heavy vehicle’s axle weight, calculate a dynamic vehicle rollover threshold, interpret extracted data from Heavy Vehicle Event Data Recorders and telematic systems, follow the proper procedures for post-crash inspections, and more. The course will also prep the students for success in courtroom presentations as well.

successfully completion of an approved Advanced Traffic Crash Investigation Course
or equivalent/higher course
