Course Description:

During this course students will:

  • Lear the importance of working together from investigation to MDT: police, prosecutors, advocates, CPS
  • Learn integral parts of sex and physical abuse cases from the law enforcement and prosecutor stand points
  • Learn what is commonly needed in physical and sexual abuse cases for successful prosecutions
  • Will know terms, strategies, and common issues in child abuse cases
  • Will work through three different types of cases to make sure they have the understanding needed for successful case work with the MDT

R4 Child Abuse for Patrol and New Investigators- Idaho Falls

Course Description:

This sixteen (16) hour block of training is for professionals that are first responders to crimes that could take the professional on a stressful, emotional and personal journey.

Who Should Attend?

Professionals that will benefit from this training are patrol supervisors, training officers, patrol officers, new juvenile investigators, SRO, child protective services, medical professionals, District Attorneys and advocacy personnel.

Course Description:

We will look into these brutal crimes and focus on the dynamics of responding to child abuse calls as part of the daily duties of an officer by focusing on the dynamics of physical abuse and neglect. This training will take one of the most dispatched calls, domestic violence, and focus on the child as the victim in “Children Living with Domestic Violence.” The child sexual abuse section will teach the students how to be proactive in their own communities in locating and documenting individuals who have sexual interest in children.
