Course Description:

This summit, presented by the Idaho Commission on Hispanic Affairs will cover the following topics:

Increase police-immigrant community trust and advance civil rights

Brainstorm strategies to reduce language barriers

Increase the frequency of collaborative interactions between law enforcement and the immigrant community

Increase the number of Hispanic/Latino(s)s who report crime

Decrease the rate of victimization among the immigrant community

Promote cultural competency training and language instruction as part of the standard training program

Relationship/trust-building between police and immigrant families

Dates: May 27, 2021

Times: 0900-1700 (registration begins at 0800)

Credit Hours: 6.5

Location: Melaleuca Conference Events Center, Corporate Headquarters, 4609 W. 65th South, Idaho Falls, ID 83402
