R4 Forensic Handwriting Examination Workshop- Blackfoot

This workshop reviews the key principles of document examination with special attention given to handwriting identiﬁcation and forgery detection. The fundamental concepts and techniques of handwriting identiﬁcation are thoroughly covered, and other aspects of document examination including ink analysis, paper analysis, and typewriter and computer generated fonts are brieﬂy discussed. Because the course follows a systematic approach, upon completion, each student will be able to properly examine handwriting and forgery cases from start to ﬁnish.
This 3-day (24 hour) interactive workshop will provide attendees with the opportunity to practice the examination of several different questioned signatures, and anonymous letters and notes.

Instructor(s): Roy Fenoff, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at The Military College of South Carolina (The Citadel), and he is also a forensic handwriting and document examiner in private practice. Dr. Fenoff has been court-qualiﬁed as a questioned document examiner and handwriting expert, and has more than 20 years of scientiﬁc training and research experience. His areas of expertise include the forensic examination of documents, identiﬁcation of handwriting and signatures, food fraud, and crime prevention. In addition to his current position at The Citadel, Dr. Fenoff is a voting member of the Forensic Document Examination Consensus Body of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Standards Board, a member of the Document Security Alliance, and a research collaborator with Michigan State University’s Food Fraud Initiative.
