*sources for those lawsuits under federal law—42 USC § 1983, 18 USC § 242, Bivens, etc.
*personal capacity suits under civil rights laws as a bypass to 11th Amendment
*11th Amendment and basics of municipal liability
*qualified immunity defense
*how conduct on the street can have practical effect on the litigation
*will NOT cover the underlying scope of civil rights and violations themselves
