R3 260/309A Active Threat Integrated Response Course (ATIRC) and Train-the-Trainer

Description:  Mountain Home PD in cooperation with Louisiana State University, National Center for Biomedical Research & Training (LSU/NCBRT) and the Mountain Home AFB Fire & Emergency Services are offering FREE “Active Threat Integrated Response Course training.  The first 3 days (Sept 6-8), 24-hours, of this course is performance-level, direct delivery course designed to improve integration between law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services (EMS) in active shooter events.  The course provides law enforcement officers with key medical skills based on tactical emergency casualty care (TECC) guidelines that can be used at the point of injury (POI) to increase survivability of victims.  The course also provides a model framework for law enforcement, fire and EMS to integrate responses during an active shooter event through the rescue task force concept using the Active Shooter Incident Management Checklist.

The fourth day of this training (Sept 9) is a 1-day, 8-hour, performance-level, direct delivery course designed to prepare trainer participants to effectively conduct an indirect delivery of Active Threat Integrated Response Course.  It contains a review of module content, practical exercises, guidance on becoming a trainer, and administrative information and tasks.

***Attendees may attend only the first 3-days of this training, but to become a train-the-trainer attendees must complete all four days of training.
