Description: Mobile Field Force Operations & Crowd Management – Train The Trainer
This Idaho POST approved, train the trainer course, is designed to provide students the necessary understanding and skills needed to effectively work in a Mobile Field Force (MFF) environment. This Mobile Field Force Operation & Crowd Management training is available to current LE Officers with Patrol or Probation & Parole certification who wish to obtain the instructor level training required to apply for the POST high liability Crowd Control Instructor endorsement.
This is a very physically demanding course, developed as a hands-on performance-based block of instruction utilizing practical exercises and scenario-based training to actively engage the student. Students will be required to effectively demonstrate and provide instruction to other students related to MFF operations and provide a classroom presentation on course related topics.
Upon completion of the course, participants will have the necessary skills to instruct other officers in the different types of Crowds and effective Crowd Management, Field Level MFF Platoon and Squad formations, tactics, and movements; as well as MFF Vehicle formations, tactics, and movements.

The Lead Instructor is Retired Police Lieutenant Kerry Giesige, a 25 year veteran of the Long Beach Ca. Police Department, with over 35 total years in the field of Law Enforcement and Law Enforcement training. Lt. Giesige has deployed and trained well over 100 times as a Mobile Field Force (MFF) Operator, Squad Leader, and Instructor for the Long Beach Police Department’s primary MFF Platoon, as well as the primary Mutual Aid Platoon for Los Angeles County.
Since retirement, he has spent the last 6 years as an Instructor for Idaho POST, instructing Firearms, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (Tac Med), ALERRT, ERASE, Mobile Field Force/Crowd Management, Gangs, as well as evaluating and instructing during POST Patrol Academy scenarios. He is also Adjunct Faculty and an instructor for The College of Western Idaho (CWI) and Idaho State University’s (ISU) Law Enforcement programs.
