Course Description: Digital Crime Scene Photography
Crime Scene Photography
The first few hours will be dedicated to re-familiarizing the student with their digital SLR camera. The basic equipment needed for this course is an SLR camera, external flash, and a tripod. The next 2 days will involve photographing items of evidence in challenging situations; for example, items in low light conditions, that luminesce or fluoresce, in shadow and sunlight, as well as macro photography. Students will learn proper techniques in photography in comparative evidence such as shoe wear, tire wear, bloodstains, as well as injuries on the body. Students will take hundreds of photos which will provide them with more confidence in their abilities in forensic photography.
