Description: Law Enforcement Phlebotomy
Commissioned officers will be trained to draw blood on impaired drivers. The Law Enforcement Phlebotomy Program (LEPP) training is an important part of the impaired driving program. While waiting for an individual or organization to respond to draw blood, vital evidence is slipping away. The LEPP is one way to gather evidence in a timely fashion that may otherwise be lost.
The LEPP is based on the very successful model used in Arizona for over 25 years now.
We offer this training in conjunction with CWI’s Phlebotomy program. the schedule is as follows:
– 48 hours of on-line pre-course work starting October 3rd
– CWI Classroom – December 10 -12, 2021
– 40 hours of clinical training to follow.
The following departments now have trained LE Phlebotomists:
Nampa PD, Caldwell PD, Homedale PD,
Idaho State Police, Owyhee County SO,
Twin Falls PD, Coeur d’Alene PD
and Pocatello PD.

The Impaired Driving Coordinator will pay for the attendee’s text book, hotel, and per diem. The attending Officer’s Department will be responsible for purchasing a Phlebotomy Chair if new to the program.
