Description:     Basic Drug Investigations Course 

The Basic Drug Investigations Course presented by the Idaho State Police is created to meet the immediate training needs of Officers scheduled to be assigned or currently assigned to narcotics units. It is designed to emphasize an ethical and safe approach to the investigation and prosecution of state and federal drug crimes. The Course utilizes seasoned narcotics officers and special agents as instructors. The course maximizes the use of hands on practical exercises throughout the two-week course. Because of the use of practical exercises, the class is limited to 32 students. Officers currently assigned to narcotics units, who have not yet attended formalized training, are encouraged to attend.
