Description: Intermediate Crash Investigation
This course is the second in the series of crash investigation courses. It builds on the topics taught in Basic Crash Investigation (40 hour course or equivalent) and requires a solid understanding of basic crash investigation techniques. This course will cover techniques for gathering measurements/evidence, vehicle dynamics, speed estimates from skid marks, yaw marks and airborne situations, time – distance and motion equations, conservation of momentum equations, human factors and vehicle dynamics. The course requires math project work and measuring of marks and roadways.
Participants will need to bring to class:
- A laptop computer with USB port to be able to access the class materials.
- A calculator with the ability to square root, SIN, COS, and TAN functions.
- Pencils, pens and note paper.
