DESCRIPTION:April 13-24 2026, 8:00am-5:00pm\nCredit Hours: 88\nCourse Number: R2 256\nDescription:\nThe Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Program has proven successful in identifying drug impaired drivers.  DREs are frequently called upon to differentiate between drug influence, medical issues and/or mental disorders.  The Certified DRE is an extremely valuable tool for combating the adverse impact of drug and alcohol impaired driving in Idaho.\nClassroom training is from April 13th-24th 2026. Field Certification training will be held in May in California. There will be two groups going to CA.\nPre-Requisite:\n\nMust have a minimum of two years of service (excluding Reserve time) and/or recommendation from a DRE Instructor.\nMust be off probation with your agency.\nMust have successfully completed ARIDE (Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement) training \nMust have a reasonable background and experience level of making DUI arrests.\nMust submit a minimum of two actual DUI arrest reports for review.\n\nInstruction: Sgt. Chris Glenn, Sgt. John Miller, and assorted DRE instructors from across Idaho\nLocation:\nIdaho POST Academy/ Classroom D\n700 S.
