Beginner-level law enforcement snipers with limited or no formal sniper training. Designated marksmen transitioning into dedicated sniper roles. Tactical teams members tasked with precision shooting responsibilities in rural, urban or mixed terrain environments. Agencies seeking to develop in-house sniper capabilities by establishing a standardized baseline of competency and skill. Officers who need a practical equipment-focused introduction to sniper fundamentals including rifle set up, ballistics and field craft. Departments preparing for our advanced sniper course by first building a strong foundational knowledge.\nBeginner Law Enforcement Snipers needing foundational and fundamental skills. Topics covered include:\n• Ballistics\n• Prone shooting fundamentals\n• Wind solutions\n• Basics of ballistic solutions with Kestrel Applied Ballistics\n• Manual Wind Solutions\n• Manual Calculations for distance and intelligence gathering\n• Atmospherics\n• Rifle setup adjustments\n• Field craft\nThis beginner course focuses on making precise, accurate ½ MOA or better shots from the prone position by developing a sniper’s techniques and understanding of internal and external ballistics. Key skills include:\n• Proper trigger press and ergonomics\n• Bullet and rifle design\n• Efficiency and stability of bullet types\n• Atmospheric effects on the target\nThe course aims to teach snipers to operate without overdependence on unnecessary equipment. Students will adjust their rifles, optics, and kits for proper fit and prolonged operation. Rifles will be checked for proper setup, including the use of Loctite and torquing to specification. Once deficiencies are corrected, snipers will aim to shoot sub-half MOA groups.
