DESCRIPTION:August 28 2025, 8:30 am – 4:30pm\ncredit hours: 8\nCourse Number: R4 210D\nDescription:\nThe U.S. Department of Justice is committed to working closely with law enforcement agencies around the country to provide child abduction response training. When a child is reported missing, time is critical, and everyone needs to be ready. To that end, the FBI is offering FREE training on this topic to ensure the law enforcement community is ready to respond as effectively as possible.\nThis course is designed to provide law enforcement personnel with a brief overview of the tools, techniques, and strategies to effectively respond to all phases of abducted/missing child investigations. At the conclusion of the course, attendees will be able to identify and effectively utilize the investigative tools and methods that will be explained through current case studies and research as the “best practices” in child abduction investigations. Instructors are members of the FBI’s Child Abduction Rapid Deployment (CARD) Team, Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU), and Cellular Analysis and Survey Team (CAST). Attendees will be provided with the FBI Child Abduction Response Plan & First Responder’s Checklist.\nTraining Topics Include:\n Abduction response – The FBI Child Abduction Response Plan\n Overview of child sex offenders and child abductors\n Types of abductions (stranger vs false allegation) with case studies\n Neighborhood investigation and roadblock canvass considerations\n Command post operations and lead management\n Cell site analysis, including case examples\nWho Should Attend: Investigators, supervisors, patrol officers, and intelligence professionals who respond to, manage, or handle missing/abducted child cases or death investigations.
