DESCRIPTION:August 11-22, 2025, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm\nCredit Hours: 80\nCourse Number: R2 301E\nDescription:\nThis is the new P.O.S.T. approved Defensive Tactics Instructor Course using the ARCON curriculum. This training course includes a test-in component, skill training, teach-back and a skills test-out component. Attendees are expected to test out at 90% to pass this course. Upon completion of this course attendees should have the skills necessary to instruct others in the ARCON Defensive Tactics techniques.\nTo be accepted to attend this class, students must first meet the following REQUIREMENTS prior to registration:\n\nCompletion of the Idaho POST Instructor Development class\nCompletion of a basic defensive tactics training or a AT/DT user course.\n\nNot required but highly recommended:\n\nCompletion of the 2018-2019 POST Use of Force class (POST Academy updated training)\nor the POST Human Performance class\n\nPhysical agility test-in requirements – 30 Burpees in 3 minutes\nARCON Instructor Physical Ability Test ( https://post.idaho.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/ARCON-Instructor-Physical-Ability-Test.pdf )\nStudents unable to pass the physical agility test-in will not be allowed to continue in the class.  The tuition fee will remain due and payable to POST.\n100% Attendance is required for completion of this course.\nCLASS ATTIRE\n\nLoose fitting tactical pants\nGi pants\nShort sleeve T-Shirt\nLong Sleeve T-Shirt\n(rash guard type also recommended)\nAppropriate foot wear for use on wrestling mats\n\nInstructors: Frank Finny\nLocation:\nEmmett High School\n721 W 12th St\nEmmett, ID 83617\nCost: $1200 Payable to Idaho POST (Invoice will be sent via email after the start date of the course)(Attendees are responsible for meals, travel, and lodging)\nPOST Coordinator: Ronda Wallace ( mailto:ronda.wallace@post.idaho.gov )\n\n\nRegistrations open 90 days before the start date of the course.
