Speed and accuracy are needed to be successful in an officer involved shooting. Unfortunately, most officers only practice at qualification speed and not gun fighting speed. This is evident by watching police firearms training and comparing their training to officer involved shootings on body cameras. The body camera shooting is twice as fast as range shooting.  Many officers only train at qualification speed and the officers often miss their target.\nThis is an end-user course open to all sworn law enforcement personnel.\nEQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS—\nDuty Handgun w/800 rounds of ammunition\nDuty Belt\nThree magazines\nBallistic Vest\nEar/Eye Protection\nSunscreen\nBall Cap\nPre-requisites for attendance\n\nBasic LEO certification\n\nInstructors: TBD\nLocation:\nBannock County Range\n2 1/2 Mile Road\nCost: $125 Payable to Idaho POST(Meals, travel, and/or lodging are the responsibility of the participant)\nRegistration:\nUse the Blue Registration button to the right.\nRemarks:\nFor additional information regarding this training or the training venue, contact Val Wadsworth (208) 243-4209 or val.wadsworth@post.idaho.gov ( mailto:val.wadsworth@post.idaho.gov ).\n Registrations open 90 days before the start date of the course.
